5 Ways Vendors Get Booked More on EventDeck
Organizers pick vendors in minutes, from their phones. Here's what the most-booked caterers, decorators, and photographers do differently.

When an organizer needs a caterer for 200 guests, they don't run a procurement process — they scroll, compare three profiles, and message one. These five habits decide whether yours is the profile they message.
Lead with your real work, not stock photos
Organizers can tell. Three genuine photos of your actual setups beat ten perfect stock images, because they answer the only question that matters: what will my event look like if I book you? Keep your portfolio current — your latest event should be your first photo.
Write a description that says who you're for
"We do outdoor catering for 50–300 guests, specializing in West African fusion" gets booked. "Quality service, customer satisfaction guaranteed" does not. Name your capacity, your specialty, and your service area — those are the three filters organizers think in.
Answer fast — speed is a feature
Most bookings go to the first vendor who responds usefully. A same-day reply with a price range and one clarifying question ("indoor or outdoor?") wins against a perfect quote that arrives on Thursday.
Get verified and collect reviews
The verified badge (KYC) and your review count are the two trust signals organizers check before contacting anyone. After every completed booking, ask the organizer to leave a review while the event is still fresh — two sentences from a real organizer outperform anything you could write about yourself.
Price on the platform, not in DMs
Vendors sometimes hide prices, fearing they'll scare organizers off. In practice the opposite happens: profiles with visible starting prices get more messages, because organizers self-qualify before reaching out. On-platform payment also protects the booking — the money is committed, not promised.
